OUR MIND'S EYE DIMS WITH TIME. PHOTOGRAPHS ARE OUR BIFOCALS, ALLOWING US TO RECALL THE BEAUTY AND CHARACTER OUR HEARTS REMEMBER. We are just not able to reach out and touch once more. ~cv
I take photographs for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the most important, to me, is to document the world in all its wonders, varieties, sorrows and joys. Also, with the hope that my pictures will remain, after I move on to the next adventure. That my images will represent me and what I am about. Now this may sound very full of myself, but that is not what I mean. Just in case anyone may be interested in these days, sometime in the future, here is the view of one person and hopefully the joy and hope, and humor will be evident.
Another reason I take pictures, is to preserve all the things I love, for it is a sad fact that nothing and no one is permanent. My beloved dog, Buddy, is such a joy, but with a terrific price.
So I photograph my roses, sunsets, my friends, my family, everything that strikes a chord in my heart. It is my way of always having a record.
It is another sad fact of life that our mind's eye also dims with time. Photographs are our bifocals, allowing us to recall the beauty and character our hearts remember. We just are not able to reach out and touch once more.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY: If you can laugh at yourself, you will be entertained for a lifetime.
