Nogen Dameshghi is originally from Iran, at the age of 4 his parents were forced to live in exile, moved in France in the city of Bordeaux, where Nogen was raised in both the French and Persian cultures. Soon, his teachers discovered his interest for art and recommend him to follow the school of “Des Beaux Arts” in France, his interest for art comes naturally from his father, what a better artistic education than a father who is an extraordinary but unknown poet! However his path was to achieve first a scientific carrier, educated at “École Polytechnique de Montréal” Nogen became an engineer, which career he is following at the time being in the city of Montreal. Since the age of 14 he learned to use photography as an expression tool, succeeding then to combine art and technology. His religion, the Baha’i Faith, is now an essential part of his artistic work, that one is sensitive and probing. Also through, of his own experience, he identifies his subjects’ expressions and tries to capture them. Nogen is at the beginning of his art and has a lot to prove to the world. His vision is large but his goal is focused. His future projects are diverse: to visit as many countries as possible and to show each individual the world as seen through his camera. This presentation of his work is essentially a range of social tableaux to portraits of individuals and has taken him to Canada, England, France and Cuba. And when you ask Nogen “What is the goal he is trying to achieve with photography?”, he will answer: “As Moliere says in the Imaginary Invalid, the most beautiful proof of love is to be submitted to the will of his lover”. Photography is for me just a tool to accomplish this love that I have for the human kind and for the nature, this love for which I am entirely submitted into. Also for me ``a photographer see what most of the people cannot see and transforms in beauty what most of the people find commun``.

Nogen Dameshghi est originaire de l’Iran, à l’âge de 4 ans ses parents furent forcés de vivre en exil, émigrèrent en France dans la ville de Bordeaux, où Nogen fût élevé dans les deux cultures française et iranienne. Rapidement ses professeurs découvrent son intérêt pour les arts, et le recommande pour des études à l’école “des Beaux-Arts” de France; son intérêt pour les arts lui vient de son père, quelle meilleure éducation que d’avoir un père qui est un si extraordinaire poète cependant inconnu au reste du monde! Cependant sa voie première fût de poursuivre une carrière scientifique. Formé à l’École Polytechnique de Montréal Nogen devînt ingénieur, carrière qu’il poursuit présentement dans la ville de Montréal. Depuis l’âge de 14 ans il a appris à utiliser la photographie comme un outil d’expression, réussissant ainsi à combiner l’art et la technologie. Sa religion, la Foi Baha’ie, fait partie intégrante de son travail artistique, qui est sensible et profond. Grâce à son expérience personnelle, il identifie et essaye de capturer les expressions de ses sujets. Naturellement Nogen n’en n'est qu’au début de son art et a beaucoup à prouver au monde. Sa vision est large mais son but est précis. Ses projets futurs sont divers, visiter autant de pays que possible et montrer à chaque individu le monde tel qu’il le voit au travers de sa caméra. Cette présentation de son travail est essentiellement un éventail de tableaux sociaux et de portraits d’individus qui l’ont amené jusqu’au Canada, l’Angleterre, la France et Cuba. Et lorsque vous demandez à Nogen quel but il essaye d’atteindre avec sa photographie, il vous répondra : “Comme Molière le dit dans le malade imaginaire, la plus belle preuve d’amour c’est d’être soumis aux volontés de sa bien aimée”. La photographie est pour moi juste un outil pour accomplir cet amour que j’ai envers le genre humain et la nature, cet amour pour laquelle je suis entièrement soumis’’. Aussi selon moi ``un photographe voit ce que la plupart des personnes ne voient pas et transforme en beauté ce que la plupart des personnes trouvent banales``.
